*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

I picked these two up in a lot with other coins. Some Walking Liberty half's.

Coin number one

it is obvious the front of this coin has been polished but not the back.

Here is the second one!

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.

I don't think they are worth the grading fees. First off, they are low value coins in low mint state. The first one appears to have a scratch and probably won't grade higher than AU, and the 2nd one doesn't look like it would grade higher than MS62 due to the marks on the face and a bit of a washed out appearance. Trying to save you some money.

These are very common dates in mid-AU condition and would not be worth the cost of grading.

to the CCF!

You do realize these are $28 max value coins, right? Grading for just one or two coins, without any deals or perks will run you $150 minimum, see?

As already stated save your money.
Grading is a tool. Use it when it is useful. Here is not the place.

Don't waste your money on having these graded by a TPG.

#1 AU-50 details worth bullion value
#2 AU-55
These are not coins you spend money on for TPG grading.
Rest in Peace

For what you would pay in grading fees for these two you can pick up an already graded MS64 example. (depending on what TPG you were considering)

I'm not an expert, but I'd go with AU details (scratched) on the first and MS 63 (if not cleaned; I can't tell from the picture) on the second.
