Hi CCF!

I just sorted through about 100 raw nickel dollars and I just had a question confirming some varieties of different dates.

I have taken pictures and I will tell you what I believe the varieties are, if someone more knowledgeable than me could confirm this, that would be awesome! I also presume these are pretty common and don't have much value above face?

SPP is the authority on these. He wrote the variety section in Charlton, but there are scores more that didn't make the book.

Very nice photography!!

For the record, all business strikes from 1975 are attached jewels... for some reason, Bill Cross fought me on this one, but after 10 years of hunting and more than $35,000 nickel dollars later, I have yet to find one in a business strike.

Also, the attached jewel 1976 can also short waterlines at the stern of the canoe. A scarce variety, within a scarce variety...

Almost every 1982 Constitution dollar with the small jewel is weakly struck (including yours). I don't know why...

I have assembled some nice varieties here, if you want to see them:

Keep up the hunt - unattributed varieties and new discoveries is what makes playing with nickel dollars fun!!

Thanks SPP! I would love to search nickel dollars but I don't have access to them "unsearched"!

Most coin dealers don't search them, except maybe for the 1974 double yoke variants... most of what I get to search, comes from coin dealers...
