Does anyone else find it odd that the new 'stamp coin' has a 3 cent denomination as well as a $20 denomination on it? Why not just leave it as a 3 cent coin and call it a day like they did with the commemorative big coin series?

Thoughts?

I would agree.
For me denomination on the "coin-like" item, makes it a coin.

But the doubled denomination, makes this coin-stamp just as a mini poster of the stamp, which is less preferable.

Probably didn't explain myself clear.
But anyway....in all the kinds of re-strikes/replica/tribute coins, always great to see original denomination only. (same for the coin-stamp)

Instead of being a complete replica stamp medallion, in order to become a coin her majesty and some kind of denomination is needed. Although nicely done for those who hasn't gone to a recent stamp show, you think there is a problem with very few young collectors in the coin hobby go to a stamp show, it's many times worst, that's why I drifted over to this side.

Nothing odd with 3 cents on the stamp coin because that was the denomination of the stamp when it came out in 1927. It would be odd if it was $20 on the front of the coin. Besides, there are no 3 cents coins.

Let me clarify, there are no circulating 3 cents coins.

Great to see everyone on their toes.

Not a bad theme but my problem is the shape - not a coin per se
Thin wafer shape of silver - with a pic of a stamp- just too many of these odd shapes - and too many pics on silver
