I see no difference after the acetone. Its good it doesn't change the coin. Bad because I see no difference between the two?

I thought I saw a difference, but now I can see that there's no difference. Oh well. It was a nice try though. :)

Well I made the side by side hoping to see it altered it. But it didn't.

Other than a very thin Cud, I also thought maybe a die dent. Just brainstorming...

Spruett, I thought that as well. I'm still debating whether it's a die dent or not. I'll continue to use Acetone, since it's safe so far, unless otherwise. We'll have to see what JC Stevens says about it.

Die damage, a collar clash perhaps that affected that portion above the offset? Seems like rim offset was dented as well...?

Meow just bought some acetone the other day. Meow tried it on toned clad quarters with haze, and they just turned into quarters with semi haze. Meow thinks they looked better before. Maybe that was not the proper use, so what would be? It did not change any yellow/gold clad coins any whiter. Meow was hoping it could do that, as yellow clad coins are not very pretty.

I haven't heard back from JC Stevens yet. Crazyb0, maybe your right. Acetone is used to get rid of dirt, grime, and other things without harming the coins surfaces at all.

Is it possibly a plating issue?
