Looking at coins the other day I noticed bid differences in the images of Washington on these two quarters the 95 seems to be a shorter fatter version the pony tails are totally different did the mint do something like new dies or something is one of these an error ,die deterioration,polishing or what happend and why such different images thanks forlooking1995&1996-Washington-Quarter

Both images are of the same coin? Here is a side by side of both years:
1995&1996-Washington-Quarter
Looks the same. Maybe your coins die was over polished? That would make the bust a bit smaller and adjust the cue?
