@JS, I don't see doubling on the nose or mouth, but I do see some areas where the copper plating is missing and the zinc core is visible. One thing which causes that peculiar pattern of rim erosion is placing cents in those aluminum "lucky cent" cases. However, since your coin is from 1996, I'm thinking that there is probably some other explanation. I will be interested to read what others think.
