What caused this first T in Trust to look like this? All of the other letters appear to be normal- no exceptional wear.

Hi,
Several possibilities.

Could be a slightly filled die.

Could be when the coin was struck, the metal did not fill the recess of the die.

Could be an unusual , slight damage caused by the die during the strike.

Maybe Mike or Coppercoins can add more to this.

Thanks,
Bill

Chuck, I don't see any sign of strike damage or tampering, so I would have to say filled die. Maybe with grease or some other foreign substance.
