Is $20.00 a troy ounce a good price to get a Silver Eagle? I know the market price is at 18 something, but I can never remember how high the spot price is above the market price?

I would buy as many as I could for less than 2 dollars over spot .

The local coin shop here is at 24.50 right now .

Depends if you are buy 1 or 1,000 Silver Eagles. If you are buying a few $20 is a very fair price. If you are buying a thousand, I still think $20 is relatively fair. I might wait and see what the market does. This coin's value is greatly dependent upon spot silver pricing.

I would consider that a fair price, especially since the mint sells them to distributors at $1.50 over spot.

bulliondirect.com was at 19.98 per coin at 8:45 CT. Spot was at a little over 18.00.
Rest in Peace

With silver at $18.10 I would consider anything under $20 a steal for a small quantity order.
