This is my first post in this forum, a newbie here, but been collection coins for a long time.
I was watching the Coin Collector on HSN2 at 2:00 AM EST and Mike Mezack had 2018-S PR70 NGC DCAM Silver Eagles for sale. How is this possible when the mint release date is next Tuesday, 8/14?
I only watch Mike Mezack for entertainment, lol. I would never buy from him with his over inflated prices. Mike had an actual 2018-S PR70 NGC DCAM silver eagle on display on his show. Closeups were shown front and back of the coin including the "S" mint mark.
The above is a perfect example of why YOU shouldn't send in routine moderns for grading. The price for a perfect 70 ER is actually less than what it would cost you to submit with NO guarantee of getting that grade.
The actual coin is in hand. See this You tube video from the Coin Collector show which aired again at 8PM EST 08/11/2018. I did make one mistake though, it was an ANACS graded coin not NGC, my bad.

It makes absolutely no sense that these TV hucksters would have a coin in hand AND ALREADY GRADED the week before it is released to anyone by the Mint. All respectable dealers are pre-selling the coin with stock/edited photos which is the norm
Yes, I did watch the video (with some severe fast forwarding) and understand where you are coming from.
I looked for a certification number on the ANACS slab, around 21:45 in the video. The number shown (0010101010101016) is not recognized by ANACS, at least not on their site. I'm thinking ANACS provided a dummy slab for the show, someone may have mocked the date on a genuine ASE (the "8" looks slightly more reflective than the other digits).
Go to ebay and you will see many of these "unreleased" 2018-S PF70 coins in TPG slabs. Personnally, I don't have any interest in this coin mostly because...
But, as stated, if you REALLY want a TPG PF-70 you are probably best buying in the after market since the uncertainty and grading fees are taken care of.
