Hello, I am new to this forum and new to an interest in coins and precious metals as well. I all ready messed up my user name, I meant to create INGODITRUST7 instead I created INGOGITRUST7 but the former has probably been taken. Anyway I have question about a 1934 D Walking Liberty half I just purchased. It has a questionable area on the reverse located at the bottom of the left wing extending into the rock or perch. I am wondering if this is something that was struck into the coin or if maybe it is a repair job? To CCF , Can you take full coin photos of obverse and reverse . Could just be PMD.  |

Thank you for directing to a more appropriate forum. Sorry I'm new at this and little slow. T-BOP It does appear to be something embedded in the coin. What ever it is it is flush with the design. Here are two more pictures it's the best I can do for now. I have something on the way for the iPhone I hope will work better.   |

looks like a nice high grade coin, I agree with coin frog, it appears to be a small lamination error. where as the metal is going to peel away from the coin..

O.k. I have a second opinion, it could be strike through debris, that is now peeling away from the coin..

Also I can see small holes in some areas at the borders.

The seller has no problem letting me return it. I'm not experienced enough to know whether or not I should return it. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I have to say I never had any interest in coin collecting but now that I have started I find it very interesting.

Whatever that mark is it starts from bottom of tail feathers up faintly to 3rd left wing feather . The coin itself is in nice condition .If the price was a steal your ok . other wise you might want a refund .  |

I noticed that the obverse has far more hairline scratches than the reverse. I surmise that this coin must have spent a portion of it's life in a coin book. Does this make sense or is there something else that could account for this?
