1969 D Black Lincoln Memorial Missing FG

As you can see, this coin has a black patina.

I found out that sometimes closer isn't better. Here is another (normal color) 69D with apparently missing FG, but when I backed off the camera, I could see the FG. Made me wonder how much else I was missing like that.

First the close-up, which is what I saw first.

It is the SAME 69D coin in all three photos. That is the way I saw it.

Besides the missing FG, wondered what you thought of the black patina in the first. Hate it?

All of the FG has to be missing for it to be a keeper. The black look is some kind of environmental damage. I don't like the look.Also,the upper left is missing on the roof but the right side is still there. To me it is a spender.

PCGS at one time were slabbing these. Then stopped. To me,the issue is an over polished die issue. To me it's not a collectible, but I'm a variety coin purist. I prefer earlier die state coins. Even on varieties.
