Hey guys! I bought this little set of Mercury dimes. They're in decent shape and might grade well! Should I crack it open and get some grades coming from you or should I leave it be? Vote away!

I would leave them in the holder. They are all circulated and look to have been cleaned. Only worth silver melt.

You won't find anything valuable in there, and you should be able to grade them in the case.
I would leave them intact as the curiosity that they are now--the case is fun and tells a story. Once you break open the case, you're left with some broken plastic and five ordinary dimes.

There is one really nice one in the set , the 1926-P . The others are decent . I would keep it the way it is .

I'd keep them in the holder. Really, not much value in or out of the holder. All are cleaned and/or heavily worn.

. Coins are marginal. The case adds a bit of spice.

It's a fun thing, but as a whole or broken up, it's just not worth much either way.

yes, these are after market , highly publicized sets sold purely for profit, for the company that originally sold them.. they are worth a little more than melt, but most of the coins have been cleaned, wiped, or dipped; for eye appeal. they wanted the coins shiny to entice people to buy the sets..
They did the same thing, with half dollars, cents, nickels, etc...

Actually one could interpret the wording on the plastic case as fraudulent -- "collectible condition" does not really apply to harshly cleaned common mercs.

Let them stay unless you want to put them into an album.

Save yourself from getting cuts from plastic.

How does that picture relate to those tired dimes.
I don't get it.
At least they're guaranteed.
