I've looked at this so many times trying to think it through to determine what is going on, if anything. I'm looking too hard and ready to toss it.

At first I thought a clash but my nickel overlay said maybe on some of it, but not the rest. Some of it looks like it could be struck thru. I'm not ruling out a die crack, but don't think so.

Left of the dome, below the building and right of the dome. Using this overlay they all appear to be clashes.

Sorry about the high number of photos but I wanted to provide you with what you might need to help. Am I cropping the photos too tight?

Can somebody take an independent look and tell me what you think?

I only see what really looks like a die clash. If you are saying that the inverted bust on the rev doesn't line up when you do an overlay, then it isn't a die clash, but that would be very odd I think. I see no evidence of these linear defects being die cracks.

Thanks Spence, I just found a good overlay, edited my post, and now also leaning toward only clashes.

What a nice find! It's a shame it's in XF or so condition, however, like I said, still a nice find!

I rarely find/see JN clashes, mostly die chips and cracks/breaks.

Thank you for the overlay Mrz!

Thank you all for the clash confirmation

Overlays always look better on proof coins. I decided just to put the bust and the buildings on the over lay. That is usually the affected areas.
