Recent pickups. First one fantasy mint mark Ds-OM. Weight 25.9-26.0 grams. Edge is a series of crude crescents without dots.

Second one is 1838 Z-OM and weighs ~23.5 grams. Not sure if the superscript s was left out by accident or just not visible due to weakness. Edge has a crude crescent and dot pattern and also a flat area.

I am not sure I will sleep well tonight, I think the eagle on the 1838 gave me the "evil eye"......LOL

Great coins. The counterfeits are what make the Mexican 8 reales so interesting to collect. Were these acquired with all parties in agreement to them not being real?

Hi J, now that you mentioned it that eagle is indeed kind of creepy lol. Both were purchased in small lots with other (genuine) coins. Not sure if the sellers knew they were fakes. Often times people know and drop them in bulk lots to pass them, which I don't mind at all :)
