Sure there would. It's always been available to buy at any price level

I'd like a gold 50 peso. Can't find one.

There's literally a couple hundred of Mexican gold 50 Pesos on ebay alone.

I suppose, if you like plated jewelry. The 50 Pesos I bought at $1300 gold spot were cheaper than what's available now. My big box vendor hasn't carried them for months.

What does plated jewelry have to do with anything?

Yes, they are available for purchase, but not at $1300. I don't understand what the beef is with gold bullion coins being more expensive than they used to be.

Yes, but we don't get to set prices. Just because something is gold or silver doesn't mean it can't have a numismatic premium.

There's a big difference between something being unavailable and someone not being able to get something at a price they want.

Spot value of gold in a 50 peso is ~1446 USD. And there are plenty of them available for a small premium.

Care to give any examples? 80% of the coins listed on ebay are replicated jewelry, I'm leery of that site anyways.
