I think I might have the coin within the subject, and according to Heritagecoins.com, such a coin was sold for 15,000 dollars back in 2005. What I want to know is if this coin I have IS a Joshua and Ally Walsh coin, and if I can even approach such an amount, or at least what value it contains. Two pictures below are coin in question, from what I can tell, the value probably drops a tad due to the scratches upon Lincoln, but other than that, most of it is in pretty good condition. Let's hear it laddies, do I have any kind of value in this coin?

 To CCF! These are pretty common. They minted a ton of these (about 991,655,000 of them). It's only worth a couple of cents unfortunately.

@EB, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks like the Walsh collection included many "finest known" examples of cents. Your '46 LWC is in pretty good shape, although as you note the obv scratches detract from its value. As you can imagine, the condition of the '46 in the Walsh condition was pristine. Others here are better at valuing coins, but I doubt that it is worth much more than $0.05. Here is a link to the heritage description of the Walsh collection: https://www.ha.com/c/newsletter.zx?...#collector-a

@Spence
So let's say it was also in pristine condition, would it still be worth that large sum of 15 grand? Or has that value gone down since 2005?
Or was that selling a fluke/con?

Yes, if it was in the condition of the coin in the Walsh collection, it might sell at $15,000. But yours is worth 10 cents or less, unfortunately.

Welcome to CC!
Unfortunately, your coin is a common one and worth about 2 cents.

Looks like a common damaged 1946 LWC.

Erebusblack, Yes if you had the slabbed version of this coin it would trade for $20k up today...note, SLABBED, not circulated. A coin of such provenance as that, attached to a major collection would NEVER wind up in circulation, get real!
