1987 D LMC Is This A DD

I found this 1987 D Lincoln Memorial cent and I think it might possibly be a doubled die.

Split copper plating on the mint mark, and MD on the reverse.

Nope, that's classical Machine Doubling, since the devices have been reduced in size. http://www.error-ref.com/machine-doubling/

The mintmark exhibits split plating doubling, and other devices Machine Doubling. Neither is a doubled die.

OK so I have a question. It makes it mechanical Doubling when (for example the A) the bottom (under the line) is thicker then the top part? And with a true doubled die the thickness is more even with each other?

Note everything you are looking at is reduction of the devices. A doubled die would show enlargement of the devices. Not a doubled die.
