Hello everyone. I was checking this one for errors and I saw something in the ear area. Do you think it is DD or MD? There are no 1990 D errors listed on Wexlers.

Thank for your input in advance.

A Doubled Die isn't listed for 1990 D, but if it's a geniune Doubled Die Obverse, than it would be the first doubled ear Doubled Die Obverse for that year.

Thanks! I appreciate your expertise. Do you think I should see what others think to build a consensus before going forward. I've been searching for new varieties so I can send more than one in to be verified. Is there a better way to photograph it to help determine and show DD in the best light? There may also be doubling on the L in Liberty as well as the MM.

I think the odds are better this is a little MD on the ear and the devices just look flattened a bit. Also the L and D mm look to have taken a hit by another coin you can see that he metal on the bottom of the L is displaced. Just my opinion. But there was someone recently I believe that found a new unlisted DD for a 90's quarter so who knows. Good luck

I've noticed that on 1990s Washington quarters Die Deterioration can be so severe that it affects the ear. This may be what you're seeing.

Looks more like a Struck Through Grease error (preventing the strike on the ear area) and coin wrapper damage on the obverse.
