I notice on ebay that there is a grading company
slabbing everything "MS-70"! WTH?!?
Every coin they get can't be "perfect".

Anyone heard of "SGS"?
They have yellow slabs...
I think I'll just steer clear.

Look at the grading company and you will notice it is some guy slabbing them in his basement and making them look close to some of the big companies. I fell for this in one of by first bids and was lucky that I ended up paying what the actual price was and not more. What is really upsetting is how they grade them and then use the PCSG prices to sell them. I know that I have found some high grade coins but nothing at an MS-70, let alone every coin I get ahold of.

SGS? Yep. They're all MS70's.

Search the Forum for some enjoyable reading about those folks.
Rest in Peace

It's because they have an insider at the mint, who grabs the very first, perfect strikes just off the press?

Guess not!

I thought it was Santa's Grading Surprise

You seem to always get a lovely present from this company every time

Actually, I think it was suppose to be Stan's Grading Service but unfortunately for Stan his vision is horrible in the basement and as he was printing the MS70 labels from his computer he added an extra a.

Shoot, I have a coin in one of their slabs that isn't even identified correctly (label says it's an S-mint; it isn't). Completely untrustworthy.

I have reached the point where I only bid
on PCGS anymore. Even ANACs and NGC are looking
less and less accurate to me anymore. (opinion)
I will pay a premium to make sure it is PCGS,
especially when the auction has really hi-def
pictures.

I don't sell coins... but those of you that do:
Take several pics, and very close up/clear.
Those are the auctions I will pay good money for.
