I recently picked up a package of world coins and in it was this (South African Penny from 1957. #KM46 It is an exact match for the coin, except... it is silver in color. I am wondering if someone had it plated as it has a hole for a chain. Any opinions?

I think that holed and plated very well describe your coin. In that order because I don't see the underlying copper material around the edge of the hole.

Agree that it's holed and plated.
