Hello, recently I received this $1 will the silhouette of $5 Lincoln in it as well as the serial numbers from the $5. Is this even possible? The back of the bill appears fine, just the front looks this way. Any help would be appreciated.

This is damage. The bills likely got wet and sat pressed together (possibly a wallet) and caused the $5 to bleed onto the $1.

While technically an ink transfer, it didn't happen at the BEP and is just damage, not an error.

But it's strange damage

You'd think that if the two notes were face to face, got wet and ink got transferred then the ink transfer from the $5 would be reversed, but it's not. It's oriented as if it were an offset transfer.

That's a good eye, BadDog. It's almost like the $5 dissolved onto the George.

Or perhaps they were just SO soggy that the ink bled all the way through from back to front (or front to back if the Fiver was on top of the George)
