Quote: Thats's the key right now where a lot less than the others are coming back as 70s I recall reading the same thing a few days ago. I can't find the reference now -- I think one of the usual sellers had to cancel a number of pre-orders for PR70 sets because not as many came back with that grade as they were expecting.

I wonder how many people reallllly want to spend that much money on that coin.

If you take out the multiple bids, about 15 people.

If you ask me that's a complete waste of money. Someone will come along with another 70 and the value of that coin will go down significantly.

Here are the PCGS population numbers for the 2018 reverse proof quarters, graded 69 and 70:
Pictured Rocks: 481/259 (743 total, remaining 68 or lower) Apostle Islands: 560/179 (743 total) Voyageurs: 561/170 (737 total) Cumberland Islands: 486/250 (737 total) Block Island: 609/50 (671 total)
70-graded Pictured Rocks and Cumberland are running about 35%, Apostle and Voyageurs just under 25%, and Block Island 7.5%.
For 70-collectors, I can see why they're paying such a premium for Block Island. I just have a hard time with collecting 70s in this series.
Also worth noting, that only a small fraction of the total run has been graded. It's certain that more 70s will come out, but probably won't affect the relative percentages.
And I do wonder why there are 9% fewer Block Islands in the population than the other quarters. They were produced as a set. I'm guessing this is due to some buyers requesting "70s or don't slab them at all".

In my opinion, this is a huge waste of money. The value will go down the toilet later.

Yeah, it's crazy, but at least we can get some entertainment out of it. Do any of you dare to venture a guess as to the final price? I'm thinking between $700-$750.

Darth Morgan, who knows? On ebay, anything can sell for a lot of money. Maybe 800.00 as a good guess?
