you have not noticed that the appearance of the coins is different
my on the right has a different hair position behind the ear, the shape of the letter T
the same arrangement has cents from 1975
this is my discovery!

In 1974 two separate working hubs were used. We refer to them as the large date/small date varieties. Bet that's what ya got. No big-em-up deal, move along folks...

I think that at a glance you can see differences in the appearance of both cents

The obverse design variety ODV-031 was used from 1974 to 1982 so yes the small date 1974 bust is the same bust you will see on 1975 cents.

Keep in mind they have the same design when the dies were made. As the die wears, the devices loose their freshness. Depending on the design/denomination they do change more so now days. But in the past the master hub used was 1909-1968. Then 1969-1982. Now they change it more often why? Because the number of Master dies/hubs/dies created wear the masters quicker. They used to just add the last two digits on the date for years. But stopped doing that. (Don't remember what year right now) The three mints have been making their own dies now for some time. (years ago just Philadelphia used to create the dies)
