Hey guys looks like 8 on top of I in LIBERTY. Is this just another damaged coin?

That is what happens when there is a small hole in the copper plating and the underlying zinc starts to deteriorate. This one is a spender!

Yep, it's Zinc Rot setting in, do to the Copper plating breaking, exposing the Zinc core. Air reaches to the exposed Zinc, and it starts to rot.
