If any Canucks here are in Vancouver where do you buy your coins and other collectables at? I know of J&M and VBCE but are there any others of note to check out?

Would always prefer to buy in person over online but selection can be limited.

J&M tend to have a bunch of stuff in the vault, all you have to do is ask but another great alternative is Chantou on Fraser Street @ 49th. They have a good selection of NCLT and also circulating both lower grade for date sets and slabbed. They also have a great selection of supplies & storage options. Chantou will also work with you on "want lists" and put items aside as they come up.

Crawford in New West are fairly limited and only take cash these days but they have the odd uncommon item. Western Coins on No. 3 Road & Westminster in Richmond also have a reasonable selection but the two I keep going back to are Chantou and J&M.

I also use Colonial Acres mail order out of Ontario. They don't charge BC PST which applies to everything except bullion. They also charge a flat rate of $7.50 shipping at $100 or more so if you are buying over $100 the shipping is cheaper than PST. This works well for NCLT.

J&M probably has the best selection I have come across at any coin dealer I've visited.

J&M and Chantou are my top two as well, and Western in Richmond would be third. Western and J&M also have secondary outlets in Metrotown (mall) - Western has the better selection there.

Brian at All Nations focuses mainly on their weekly online auctions. He may have some stuff in the vault, but in my experience not much inventory and not readily available. He is a very nice man, and knowledgable, however.

J and M is good, but if you'd consider venturing out to the Fraser Valley, visiting Paccoin's tables at the Abbotsford Flea Market would be well worth the drive. Jack and Nancy are great people to deal with. They also have a very reputable ebay presence.
