That's one heck of an ugly fingerprint! That's an awesome thread that you started! This will be very interesting to watch.

You're welcome. I don't have any slabbed coins with fingerprints to show, but I'll be watching, since this is going to be a very good and fun thread.

I don't believe I have any to show, so I'm just a spectator.

I've got a couple laying around here somewhere, not yet imaged. What I do have imaged, though, is this 1910 Lincoln Cent matte proof that I recently sold. This was my first MPL. I had hoped to trade it in for something prettier, but instead I traded for a 1913 MPL details with a removed spot on the obverse (I think a reverse fingerprint is more tolerable).

Quote: TreeMonkey- My wife was an FBI fingerprint examiner years ago. She believes she sees loops and whorls. A fingerprint is composed of loops and whorls, right? If a fingerprint then there must be more than one judging from the patterns. If not, I wonder what else could have caused it. Gives the bear some extra texture though! Either way it didn't bother PCGS. Thanks to your wife for providing an expert opinion. USSID18, your opinion is appreciated too.
