 To CCF! It's a spooned coin (It's been whacked with a spoon, on the edges). It's 100% Post Strike Damage (meaning it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). It's only worth face value unfortunately. Errers and Varietys.

Looks like a Dryer Coin. Spooned coins generally have rounded edges, Dryer Coins tend to be flat like your coin. |

@Kevske605, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes it was either spooned or is a so-called Dryer Coin. Your dime is damaged and only worth face value, but still neat to look at. "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Interesting! Not doubting you, but this one isn't rounded. It is actually sharp to the touch around the circumference . Must of had a heck of a life in the dryer past few years being 4yrs old huh? Lol. It is so deep set with sharp edges. Looked up "dryer" coins and didn't really see any equal. More "rounded". Of course we all hope for the holy grail this is not it appears  I will hang on to it for I can not use it in its current condition.. Thanks for the welcome and talk soon... Kevin |

Ok yep, one problem with spooning as a theory is that dimes are not typically used due to their small circumference--I think that it would be hard to make a ring that would fit on someone's finger if you start out with this denomination. On the other hand, your pics seem to show a whole series of dings on the edge, which isn't common for what we normally see with Dryer Coins. "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Ok I think I am getting this site...#128556; Thanks for info with the dime and I will just obviously hold onto it. I just sent a long email and denied because I am new!! Aww I will be on discussing my need for a 1909svdb and a few other rares to complete my book that dates up to 1986 I think!?!? Have questions before taking the plunge that I should had done years ago. Still have about 5k unsearched Wheat penny bags but the odds clearly against me. We will see... What I meant by, "I am figuring this site out", is literally every sense of my words.
There is a lot going on with the site and trying to get acclimated with all that is in front of me. There is a lot to digest. I had to ask my wife to help me respond to the emails!! Lol
