Poor Abe's head, not sure what happened to it. starting above the right eye and going up and back looks like a crack? Maybe a lamination error? Not really sure what!

I don't know about the PSD, doesn't show any type of typical damage associated with it. Anywho, here are some close shots

I agree with above, it does look like a cracked Skull, but a closer/larger image would help.
