The colour is just toning, likely from something acidic like soda.

The doubling you see looks Die Deterioration Doubling combined with a little bit of Machine Doubling to me

You can heat glass and get an isoning affect, so it may have been heated a bit. Sometimes jewelry cleaning can at first make the coin look new, but turns color as it ages.
