killians76 Pillar of the Community United States 986 Posts	Posted 09/07/2018 09:26 am I'm not sure if fonts have changed much, but the G. Washington looks different than the J.Monroe dollar. The 8 looks thicker and the initials are also. Bottom of the J and the 2 horizontal lines of the F. Just wondering if this is some king of font change I can't find to read about. Any ideas?...... I can see pushed over and flattened metal on the 7. On "1817", that's Machine Doubling, because the devices are reduced in size, on the bottom. Edited to correct my funny typo. Errers and Varietys. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/07/2018 1:51 pm It depends more on the series for that President. Each one of these master hubs are created separately. So if they are all for the same President, then they are normal. If there are more than one different set of letters for the same president, then it could be a variety if the hubbed die show the difference. So what I'm saying is that if it is normal for the President and different for another one and they were all the same for the same president, then that would be a normal for that President. Maybe they needed to change the font to fit on different Presidents? Who know. But if they are normal, they would be common. IT would be like us saying they used a different size of date on the 2001-2003, but in 2004 they changed it. (Which they did) Then that would be normal for those years. Making them common.
