I think those 3D columns are part of the design.

Thanks, the first picture was throwing me off and wasn't sure. I looked at other pennies and they must have been bad examples to look at.
I need a microscope where I can see decently. I've tried all kinds and some have good qualities and some doen't. It just depends on how bad your eye site is and how much you want to spend to figure it out.

I've ordered 2 cheap-small jeweler lenses; they work better than the $$$ ones. Thanks for your help!

Column #4 looks like MD to me. Probably if we seen a wider view other devices would also be affected. Note how it reduced the size of the devices. The DDR's on the extra columns are in the centers of the bays, not on the column.

MD is usually found on the edges of devices.
