Well I think it looks good. Much better in person than in pics. Should I even try to clean it to see if it will become more shiny? It looks to me like it was lightly circulated.

I do see some circulation wear and tear on both sides, so it would probably get the AU grade. Still a good find in that condition though!

Will acetone hurt the coin? If not, what's the best way to soak it? How long? Is there a process?

Thanks in advance

I've used 100% pure Acetone many times, and it will not harm the coin, as long as you do it correctly. I do the soak for usually four hours. Here's a very good and important thread about Acetone that you should check out. Read all of the comments, as they give very good answers and advice from longtime members. http://goccf.com/t/300896

Nice find! Soaking the coin in 100% acetone may help.

Pure acetone will not harm a coin no matter how long it is exposed to it.

I've soaked them overnight in pure acetone and it will not harm your coin.

What looks like a finger print on the obverse would make it a spender for me. Acetone will not help that. It is however a de (cent) hole filler for your folder.

Slightly circulated with traces of original mint red showing . AU , acetone would not hurt or help this coin .
Holder it and put it with other AU Wheaties .

AU-55

Soaking it is a waste of acetone, it will do nothing.

I don't see acetone helping this either, have seen many 50's LWC like this. Start a Blue Whitman folder for fun!
