I saw some auctions for some high grade proof German coins, but the listing says they have an odor because they were kept in a house where smokers live.
I was wondering how you might go about getting rid of the smell permiating the slab.
I thought you could put it in dry baking soda and see if that absorbs the smell.
That may prove difficult. Just how far in has the smoke penetrated? If the insert material is affected, which it shouldn't if the slabbed is sealed correctly, then just the outside can be cleansed and deoderized and if need be use the scratch remover products for slabs.
