I was looking through my coin collection and rediscovered these coins. I can tell by the way they "clink" that they are silver, but beyond that I really don't know where these coins are from or their date. I would appreciate it if anyone could help identify these coins. Thank you.

@VON, just in case you'd like to investigate these on your own, I can get you started:

First, http://www.numista.com is a great place to find things like these. The design of a lion holding a sword while standing under a crown is diagnostic for coins of Iran. Using the search terms of LION SWORD CROWN will get you in to the right neighborhood. Next, to determine the date, you will have to figure out the four numbers on the obv below the bust and then use an AH to AD converter. On the right hand side of the rev inscription (that is the start) is the denomination.

Feel free to post your guesses and we can certainly guide you further (or, more likely, congratulate you on a job well done).

Looks like 2 are 1973, and the other one is 1968. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces6017.html

Some of us like to call Iran pre-1979 Persia. And yes, that is not Arabic, it's Persian (Farsi).
