Hi all. Found a 1972-D LMC rotated 135 degrees (I think).
I went to rotateddies.com but that site has not been updated since 2013. I need to know how to calculate degrees and how to know if it is CCW or CW. Is there a current site I can go to? Value? I think around $5 in average condition. No access to camera right now. Thanks.

Not real sure of a particular website you can go to.

Have you tried Googling "rotated die" to see what comes up ?

EDIT: Wow ! 135 degrees....Nice !

Very nice find and congratulations John1! If you want to try using this diagram from Mark, I'll post it here. All credit goes to Mark1959.

John

Thinking you would set the obverse of the coin on the diagram with the head at 180 degrees (upside down). Flip the coin in the direction so that the top of the memorial on a normal coin would be at 0 degrees. What ever degree the direction the top of memorial is off of "0" will let you know the degree of rotation as well as the direction (clockwise or counter clockwise).

On the reverse, the bottom right of building is at 3k on a normal coin. If you rotate my coin CW to just before 6k,that is where the bottom right of building ends up. So what would the degree be? Thanks all.

Without an image it hard to visualize which building corner is referenced. Needed to determine CW or CCW.

Example:
http://goccf.com/t/266383&SearchTerms=roto,flip

Roto Flip reference.
http://rotateddies.50webs.com/meas.htm

What I use for image overlays below. I can then rotate the coin image in the direction needed to establish a fairly accurate degree estimate. Thanks, Doug.

Adding, if I have to maneuver or turn the coin to the left to reach upright at 0°, then coins strike was rotated CW.

If I have to maneuver or turn the coin to the right to reach upright at 0°, then coins strike was rotated CCW.
