Recent pick up at auction, seems nicer in hand than an AU 55 ICCS grade an earlier 2 letter grading. Pics are on another thread Welcome to loonie bin, just don't see too many off colour and planchet errors

I could post them here if I could find them. I don't see anything matching in that topic.

John100, didn't you show me a similar one several years ago in a PCGS holder?

Oh that is cool that you got it john100. We did see it in the "bin". Congrats. . Can I ask, did you get it for the 50 cent end, or the loon end? I would think a 50 cent collector would want it more than a loon collector.

I already have a NGC ms 63 1995 50 cent on a loonie, this was the same error type, the colour is a bright like a new loonie fresh from a roll. To me anyway it looks just as cool as a golden 50 cents and a 50 cents loonie, the planchets are almost identical. The NGC # 2779432-040 The NGC pics are great for this coin

Quote: the planchets are almost identical. Yes... so much so that the old style parking metres counted 50c coins as loons... parking was half price for a long time!! (and perfectly legal, since both were Canadian legal tender)
