Must have been a pretty hard hit or some strong pressure to put IN GOD in the field of this 2013 Lincoln Cent. It is incuse and seems to have happened at the mint as this is from an OBW of all 2013 uncirculated coins. A couple others have lesser impressions as well but this one jumps out. 2013 Lincoln Shield cent with extra IN GOD pressed in I'm adding the reverse of the coin exactly opposite the IN GOD impression just in case folks want to puzzle over it. Was it Doubled Struck in it's collar? Another guess is maybe a Misaligned Die Clash? I'll contact Mike Diamond for you, since this is definitely a legitimate error (just don't know which one it is).

Somehow got compressed inside the roll onto each other perhaps. Are the others the exact same ?

Actually compressed in the roll would make a lot of sense. Most all of the marks are lettering around the edge where lettering would be if the coins were in the roll when the compression happened. Makes sense to me.
E&V, I am pretty sure this is not an error, just something I found neat looking.

That is quite interesting. The fact that the extra lettering is incuse and backwards (mirrored) leads me to believe these are not real errors. I would still be interested in what Mike Diamond makes of this, though. It is not an everyday find, for sure.

It is still interesting, even if it doesn't turn out to be an error coin. The only thing that puzzles me, is how the damage got there, even though it was from a OBW BU roll of 2013 P LSC's. I'm pretty much lost for words here.

I could see where this could have happened outside the mint as well. Cents are placed in huge Ballistic Bags of 400,000 coins to be shipped out. Non mint employees actually break down the bags and roll the cents. Three Cents could have been stacked at the bottom of the Ballistic Bag and the whole bag dropped. The weight of the all the coins above would cause damage.

As others have said, this would have to an accidental or intentional "squeeze job".

Quote: since this is definitely a legitimate error Doubtful. I agree with mikediamond on this - looks like damage after the minting process.

I'm the one who contacted Mike Diamond. Since he spoke, I agree with him and the others.

I am with still looking. That is s lot of weight bouncing around on top of the coins on the bottom. I am surprised we don't see more of this.
