1943 copper cents are VERY rare.
There are no known double struck 1943 copper cents.
Counterfeit double struck coins are common.

Looks all wrong. The strike is not strong enough. Looks like a Lincoln bust on the obverse, the reverse looks like the motto of an obverse. Run!

There would be more of a space in there if it was an altered '8'.

The strike is too weak for it to be legitimate. Looks fake to me.
Rest in Peace

The front is very suspicious. The error is legit unfortunately.

I don't believe it is a legitimate coin or error. Even a legit error on a fake coin is worthless.

This is a fake. The die pressure was set for the harder steel composition so when the softer brass planchets were struck the impressions are very sharp and clear. That isn't the case on this coin (and I see nothing wrong with the 3 or the font of the other digits. The 3 is not far from the 4 and the tail of the 3 curves down just like it should.) The off-center strike would have had two layers of planchets there which would have increased the pressure even more, yet the deaits on the second strike are still very weak. That could only mean that they were weak like that in the die. In other words not a US Mint die.

Typical-looking Chinese style counterfeit; weak strike, very low relief, artificially aged surfaces. In this particular case, I think this may actually be a novelty fantasy piece; the counterfeiter just seemed to want to make the most implausibly awesome combination of features on a coin he possibly could, and it may not have been meant to fool anyone. I've seen intentional eye-popping errors on rare coin copies from the Gallery Mint, for example. Imagine a real double struck '43 copper!
