Poll Question
So in an attempt to personally learn the difference between a 1992 Specimen and Proof-Like loonie. I thought I'd give the CC an opportunity to school me in distinguishing between the two.

Is coin Number 1 a Proof-Like or Specimen Loonie?
One of them is a proof-like and one of them is a specimen (removed myself from their packaging).

For me, the camera glare makes it too hard to see. In hand, I think that most could call it right. I didn't vote because you can't see well enough to discern.

It's hard to tell. I think older specimens look very similar to the PL coins. Newer specimen coins have a nice brushed look.

Planchets were burnished similarly and both coins were struck in Ottawa. I prefer to see the coins in hand to tell, but If I had to stick my neck out, #1 would be the specimen based upon the squareness of the rims.

So far...as of this post, we have 5 voting that #1 is the specimen. 4 of you believe that #2 is the specimen.

One person has stuck their neck out saying that #1 is the specimen based on the squareness of the rims....and....they would be right :) SPP-Ottawa...and the slight majority of you have been able to properly distinguish between the two.
