I see the limited Edition Silver Proof Set goes on sale in October. Is not much excitement this year as there was last year? I bought the 2017 set for the 2017 ASE from the S mint and it was a beautiful set!! Haven't seen a thread yet on it!

The reason the set is not generating much excitement is because it does not contain any distinctive coins - every coin in the set is already available from the Mint either individually or as part of a different set.

Also, the set is going to be more expensive for the same coins. If a collector purchases the 2018 Silver Proof Set for $49.95 and the S-mint Proof ASE for $55.95, he/she would have all the coins in the LE Proof Set (plus a proof cent, nickel and Sacagawea $1 coin) for $105.90 vs. the ~$140 price tag of the set.

Yes I agree I don't plan on buying it as the price is too high!

I bought the 2017 LESPS only because I missed out on the Congratulations set. I do not intend to purchase this year's LESPS for the reasons mentioned above. The OGP is nice but not worth the upcharge, IMO.

Let's try the correct thread...

Only a tad under 25k sold as of Sunday....

Edit: I should add that Modern Coin Mart has the raw sets available for $189 in case you don't want to pay $145 at the Mint
