Hi again, hopefully as a new member I wont drive away any potential help by posting too many new topics on here... but this is one I have hit a wall with.

It is a medal of some sorts, missing the ribbon, on one side it says "crowned june 26th 1902" and on the reverse is "Edward VII and Alexandra King and Queen of Great Britain" with busts of the two.

i have done some research, well googlesearches, and when searching for the phrase "crowned june 26th 1902" under images, the only results (which are very similiar) have the words "Coronation Celebration" and "ACTON" which my medal does not have.

i know my grandfather was in the military, as was his father, but I cant find any results whatsoever that show an exact likeness of the medal I have found.

please, if anyone has any knowledge of what this could be, I would very much like to know. I am trying to learn about my grandfather and this is one of the few things I have (my father has the rest)

@halex, it is a bit late, but just in case you are still checking this thread periodically, here are a few links to similar coronation medals on ebay:

https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Antique-sou...AOSw9Gdcqc31

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any additional information in terms of who made them.

It is listed as 4378A 1 (22mm) or 2 (25mm) in John Cumbers & Andrew Whittlestone's Royal Commemorative Medals 1837 - 1977 Volume 4. King Edward VII 1901-1910. (Second Edition, Galata, 2017.)

There, they list it as being by Lauer although the piece is not actually signed. It certainly looks like similar pieces by Lauer that are signed.

They also designate it as VC, i.e. very common.
