This 1906 Indian Head cent came in today's mail. Lots of luster, brown surfaces with a little mint red, violet and blue toning and a bit of the woodgrain thing going on on the reverse.

There is a thin mark in the field in front of the Indian's face. The shiny spot at the 7:00 obverse rim is light reflection off of a tiny rim mark.

The reverse has just a bit of rotation from the obverse alignment.

I'd ordinarily say 64/65BN, but that apparent scratch in front of the nose could hurt it.

I'm afraid I must agree. Nice photography, by the way.

I'd say MS-62 BN
Scratch on obverse field and rim a little distracting, but still a nice coin

Thanks for the responses so far. I bought this coin for $25 with the intention of flipping it, but after receiving it, I have decided to keep it.

It's a case of a coin that looks much nicer "in hand" than in the enlarged photos. The mark in front of the face is not visible unless you tilt the coin. The light I used to photograph it makes it stand out much more than it does. Also the bright spot at 7:00, a very slight rim mark, is hardly visible to the naked eye.

I think the luster and colors are quite nice.

I can see this one at MS62BN. I think the scratch isn't that noticeable. remember this is really blown up, my guess is that its not as visible in hand and would not pull a details designation. I think the rim nick is more distracting than that but again not enough to details it

Based on these pics versus the original ones,I think this is one where you have to have it in hand to decide.
