These two pennies caught my eye. The 1997 has strange corrosion and is almost gold in color, While the 2002 seems to have silver colored metal (Zinc?)under the copper. Are these strange errors or chemically altered ect.?
It is only considered an error if it was done during the striking of the coin. Since this has definitly happened after that, it is considered PMD. Some sort of environmental damage and/or corrosion the cause.
