I joined CCF early this year with no interest in medals. But I have seen so many nice, interesting, unique medals that I have grown to love them.

During this time, I finished my Silver Washington quarter set. This is my favorite series. I have interest in Washington medals. I also have interest in Papal/Catholic medals.

Where are the best places, sources to learn about these two categories?

I can tell that buying without gaining much knowledge first could lead to some regrets.

Thanks in advance!

I have a few favorite websites bookmarked and I too have gotten much more interested in medals in the past year or two. Buy and collect what you really like. There's tons out there to pick from. Compare actual sold prices to what people are asking for on ebay.

As far as religious medals go, I like a few. Be careful, they make fakes and replicas of those too. Even those to look worn. My favorite I have is of Joan of Arc and there are many of those, but a good one can cost a pretty penny.

This is good for Papal medals:

but researching religious medals can take fprever. I deal with a lot of them and have never found any form of general reference
