I have recently found a 1971-d half dollar that weighs 8.8 grams. What are the values on these coins in the condition and graded as yours are. I have also found a half dollar weighing 10.8 grams. Do you have any info on what that could be?

If struck on quarter stock as shown in other topic is suspect on the 1971-D showing 8.8 grams. You might check if any sold on ebay. Condition is a factor. Obverse and reverse images may suggest more.

What year is the 10.8 grams? That is at the low end of tolerance for a 1971 to date 75 Cu. 25 Ni on pure Cu. Again obverse and reverse images may suggest more. Thanks, Doug.
