Got this one really cheap because (seriously?) someone in the past , wrote the price on it with a marker.
A little acetone bath, and in to the Dansco.
Well done!

This is an interesting one;a Hungarian Denar under King Ferdinand I that is dated 1451 with a K-B mint mark but should be dated 1541. Denars were not dated before 1503 and King Ferdinand I ruled from 1526-64.

Very nice!

I suppose that is a known error?

Hopefully we can see it appear in How far back can we go? Second Edition! thread on the 1541 date.

So I got married on Friday 8-14-15 and my new wife bought me a wedding gift, as I did for her. I bought her a pair of Oakley sunglasses for our cruise, and a 1 ounce silver round engraved with our wedding date and names on it. Her "gift" was actually more like several "gifts" and included the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Presidential dollar proof sets (to finish that collection up to date), a 2 ounce silver round, and this 1912 Lincoln Cent, graded MS-63 by the LCS she got it from. The toning doesn't come out too well in the picture, but it's a dark purple color in hand. It's a definite improvement over the old beat up circulated one I had before. I've said it before, but I think I did good with picking her.

I went to my local dealer to find a specific VAM. I got these instead. He kept showing me stuff I couldn't live without. Just for fun, what would you guys pay for this stash? (Twenty 2x2s not shown.) I think I got a bargain, but never did find the VAM I was looking for.

Thanks for the compliment jbuck, I've saved up for several months for this shopping spree. Finn235, I don't see a date, but may try a little chemistry to see if I can enhance what is there. It was picked up as a companion piece for my worn Morgan dollar.

Maybe I should have explained a little bit about the coins and why I selected them.

In order of my picture, and just out of the acetone.
The first candidate is an 1887 Morgan dollar marked "Hooked Lips". Not an official designation, but descriptive of the clash marks. Officially, VAM-3A LDS, on the list of The Super Clashed Die Collection, a list of 25 highly collectible clashed die varieties identified by Dr. Mark Kimpton in his 2005 book "Elite Clashed Morgan dollars".

The first Peace dollar shows some clash marks I don't recognize, and I'm hoping it will qualify as a new discovery VAM.

The third coin, top row is another Peace dollar and has some evidence that will help me support a contention concerning hub die transfers.

The fourth coin is a Melt Bucket coin I picked for the silver content. It's in AU condition and will fit in my melange of World Coins. (That has a nice ring to it. Let's make it official. MWC - Melange of World Coins.)
The second row begins with a UK Two Pence of 1797 for the MWC. At 5mm thick and 56 grams, any drop will result in serious rim dings. I personally think this thing is somehow connected to the early developments of hockey, but we'll save that for another time.

Then comes two MB (Melt Bucket) Peace dollars.
The first is VAM-3A with a double wing clash on the reverse. The rest of the coin looks like it got dropped in the garbage disposal, but the clash area is untouched.

Third coin, second row, was selected from the MB because of the lamination error. This will make a classic study example.

The Fourth coin is a Peruvian 1 Sol, .500 fine, plucked from a Your Choice bucket, primarily for my MWC collection.

Last in the second row is my new pocket piece. When I pulled this from the melt bucket, we laughed so hard that my dealer accepted an offer below melt value. I can't tell if the picture is in focus.

The lower 16 coins were all from the "If you don't buy these, I'll throw them out" bucket.
Four Chilean coins, for the challenge of conservation. Three are turning out respectably. The fourth one was at one time in Satan's personal collection.
The Heptagon shaped coin is from Haiti and goes with the MWC.
Then comes the Oriental coin with a square hole. My dealer kept telling me I would never be able to identify this "Chinese" coin, so I just had to take it. I should have made this post two days ago, but I've been up two nights trying to attribute the coin. It's Japanese. My dealer is a very funny man.
Last coin in the row is Egyptian for the MWC.
Next row begins with 3 identical Bahamas Fifteen cent square coins. While not rare, they will be worth about a million dollars to me at Thanksgiving. The younger nieces and nephews each get a fun coin and there will be no squabbling about who got the better one.
Then a zinc coin from Bohemia and Moravia in remarkably nice condition.
Continuing-List-To-Show-Everyones-Latest-Acquisitions
The Chinese coin is for MWC and the Philippine dime for silver content.
The Saudi Arabian coin is for the MWC as well.
The bottom two are not really coins. The first is a "Good For" token. Apparently good for land in the Chicago area. Probably no longer valid.
Bus token. Where I live, bus tokens are not common. Buses are non existent. Even the roads are scarce.
Like I said, I think my dealer is generous, but would appreciate hearing what you would consider a bargain price for the lot. Maybe we could make it a contest to see who can guess the closest. Price includes tax.
Thanks for looking.

Wow. Thank you for the breakdown. Everything with a purpose, it seems.
