So this 2017 5 oz ATB Iowa Effigy Mounds in the DMPL MS69 version shows up today. It's my first of these manhole covers that I decided to buy. At first I thought I made a mistake in buying this over the 2017 P SP matte finish version. But it turns out these MS have a lower mintage over the SP versions, at least from what I understand for this issue. I would be cautious buying any raw ones as I suppose they can have contact marks but getting this one in a slab as big as a queen size bed made it a worthwhile buy. It is an impressive hunk of silver and I show it next to my silver proof for comparison. I had to have one of these, so I stuck with my Indian theme.

Not really a fan. Besides, aren't those supposed to be marked copy? Base metal w/ 31 micrograms of silver...

Shows what happens when you mint them 1 at a time using specially prepared planchets and dies, vs. dumping into bags and rattle around in trains...
Glad you are happy - that's all that matters!
