nice coins! Never actually paid much attention to them nor have I ever had one in hand. Are they large coins?

Anyway I was fishing for big sterling medals and caught this Blue Pike!
Has over an oz of pure silver in it. FISH ON!
My father actually caught one of these when I was in the boat with him in 1970 on Lake Sharbot Ontario.
The guide with us knew right away it was a "Blue Pike" because of the way it jumped in the air when it got hooked. Not because he saw what it was but because Northern Pike do not jump.
Funny how some memories get burned in your mind like that. I can almost see it happening as I type.

BTW The Blue Pike that the internet is showing images of that may be extinct is not the same fish on the medal or what I saw my father catch. They are showing something from the perch or walleye family on the internet and a pike on my medal. So I have an error medal LOL.
The fish on my medal is actually showing a "Silver or Blue Pike" and the one that is supposedly extinct is actually a walleye.
My father caught a Silver Blue Pike ( last fish at the bottom ) which is scarce but not extinct at all. I did not know of the supposedly extinct Blue Walleye before last night.
On the back of my medal it says the Blue Pike is delicious and walleye surely are the tastiest fish in the water, but the Northern pike is not nearly as good to eat ( In my opinion, no comparison, no matter how it is cooked ) and very bony.

To keep this coin related, I recently purchased the sport fish set from Canada and will show the Pike and Walleye coins here too.

It's been some time since adding to my 1946 Birth Year Collection.

NEPAL KM718, 50 piasa, .800 silver, just a touch larger than a US quarter dollar.

The year 2003 = 1946

In the meantime, here is a 1643 solidus from Livonia (Riga) under the Swedish occupation of Christine. These coins are really common for being so old, and can be found in Uncirculated grades; this one is a bit more unique in that the reverse is struck off-center by quite a bit, but the obverse is decently centered. This particular one grades right around EF40-EF45 in my opinion.
