Nice Ike coin, I have one too. I live about 3 hrs. from the Ike Library and Museum, Abilene, KS, he grew up there, is buried there. Good place to visit and learn about him and WWII.

@mestephil, it's actually quite easy to crack out the mint-issued proof sets. The easiest way is just to twist the case in your hands until you hear a crack, do the same thing twisting in the other direction, and then the case separates quite nicely. No pliers, hammers, knives or any other tools needed. Check out Youtube and you'll find some videos showing this process (just ignore the ones using tools... ).
