Don't ever get that re-certified by PCGS! How'd it get a PL with those scratches, the devices ain't that frosted and line detract from appearance.

Yeah, I don't know what CAC was thinking.
This gold coin is all scratched up too.

And this Franklin, way too many scratches.

Actually, Mercury dime proof are not cameo proofs, so the devices won't have as much of a frosty look to them.

Maybe a bit overgraded, but hard to tell with the pics (can't tell what's die polish and which are scratches)

I've only been collecting coins for 2 days. This TV coin guy, I think his name is Ricky Tobasco, says if you use baking soda on coins it gets them nice and shiny. I will try that.

It would be swell if folks who aren't familiar with die polishing lines would refrain from commenting on them.

In most instances, this is a very knowledgeable community with great advice. But I think problems occur when CCF members deviate from their areas of expertise and make their opinions sound as absolutes. Unfortunately, because of this, you can get some really bad advice on this forum.

But sometimes people are just being sarcastic, which is fine, and I respond in kind.

BTW, where can I get some baking soda?
